The Russian embassy in the US said via Telegram that the US had prior knowledge of Ukraine’s plans to “sabotage” the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea.
The embassy said European allies disclosed confidential information about Ukraine’s plans to the US, “designed to undermine European energy security”.

The Washington Post reported that the US received information three months before the “bombing” of the Nord Stream pipeline. A European intelligence service shared the plan with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in June 2022. This report has not been previously disclosed.
According to the Washington Post, the reports found specific evidence linking Ukraine’s Government to the attack on the pipeline, which the Western countries have called a “brazen and dangerous act of sabotage” on Europe’s energy security. Air National Guard member Jack Texeira allegedly shared the report’s details on a messaging platform, Discord.
The Russian embassy also said the US created “obstacles to prevent the launch of a transparent international investigation at the UN Security Council” called by Russia, China and Brazil. “The coordinated campaign of the West, led by the United States, to confuse the international community is sewn with white threads,” the embassy said in its post.
