Saipem has secured onshore engineering and construction contracts worth $800m in South America and West Africa.

The company will expand the Tout Lui Faut refinery located in Suriname, South America, to increase its capacity to 15,000 barrels per day.

Under the contract, Saipem will provide engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction services.

Saipem was also awarded the contract for the Otumara-Saghara-Escravos gas pipeline in Nigeria by Shell Petroleum Development.

The 42km pipeline will collect 30 million cubic feet of processed associated gas per day from the Otumara and Saghara fields in the western Niger Delta and send it through the Escravos-Lagos system to the domestic market.
