Oman gas company

Oman Gas Company (OGC) has awarded a contract to TECNA, an engineering unit of the Isolux Corsán Group, to develop the conceptual engineering for the extraction of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) from its Salalah gas pipeline network in the south of Oman.

The technological engineering study will investigate the possibilities for the recovery of liquefied petroleum gases at various points of the gas pipeline facilities in the Salalah region, the first area selected for analysis.

TECNA will carry out economic studies and development of business models, specific market studies for the marketing of LPG and condensate, and localisation research of the facilities.

The study will also estimate the investment required in each case, which will allow OGC to proceed with the next phases of the project.

It will also identify and select the process alternatives, including available technologies for the extraction of LPG, natural gas liquids, C2+ and other condensates from natural gas supplies.

Upon completion, the project is set to increase revenues to the government by extracting LPG and commercially valuable condensates from natural gas, before being delivered to consumers after refining.
