Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) artificial intelligence (AI) unit, AIQ, has partnered with US-based Baker Hughes to improve efficiency of upstream oil and gas operations.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop, deploy, and commercialise advanced analytics solutions AI products for the oil and gas industry.
AIQ CEO Omar Al Marzooqi said: “AI plays an instrumental role in enabling smarter, more efficient and sustainable growth for energy producers such as ADNOC, as well as the wider oil and gas industry, and AIQ is focused on accelerating the development of new AI solutions that can unlock greater value for the industry as the energy transition unfolds.
“Baker Hughes is a long-term strategic partner of ADNOC and we are excited to work with them to unlock new opportunities to further advance our strategic objectives.”
The project will initially focus on developing AI solutions to help optimise Adnoc’s drilling activity.
Work includes analysing drilling data and identifying potential opportunities that would improve ADNOC’s drilling trajectories and programmes.

AIQ, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi’s Group 42 and ADNOC, is working on several key AI projects for the oil and gas industry.
