GlobalData’s latest report, ‘Europe, North America and Former Soviet Union (FSU) Gas Processing Industry Installed Capacity and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Forecast by Region and Countries including details of All Active Plants, Planned and Announced Projects, 2022-2026’, says that, as of September 2022, Europe had 95 active gas processing plants with a total gas processing capacity of 51,972 million standard cubic feet per day (mmcfd). The region’s share of the global gas processing capacity is 8.4%.

Major active gas processing plants in Europe are Kollsnes (Norway), Karsto (Norway) and Nyhamna (Norway).

In Europe, as of September 2022, the Netherlands leads with an active gas processing capacity of 24,834mmcfd. Emmapolder, Balgzand-HiCal and Balgzand-Nogat are the major active gas processing plants in the country.

The United Kingdom ranks second, with an active gas processing capacity of 11,681mmcfd. St Fergus II, SAGE and St Fergus I are the major active gas processing plants in the country.

Norway is the third highest country, with an active gas processing capacity of 11,420mmcfd. Kollsnes, Karsto and Nyhamna are the three active gas processing plants in the country.
