GlobalData’s latest report, “Global Refinery Condensate Splitter Units Outlook to 2025 – Capacity and Capital Expenditure Outlook with Details of All Operating and Planned Condensate Splitter Units” says that the global refinery condensate splitter units capacity increased from 3,119 thousand barrels per day (mbd) in 2015 to 4,121 mbd in 2020 at an Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) of 5.6%. It is expected to increase from 4,121 mbd in 2020 to 5,007 mbd in 2025 at an AAGR of 3.9%.

The United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Iran, the US, and Qatar are the major countries that accounted for 58% of the total global condensate splitter units capacity in 2020.

The United Arab Emirates had the highest refinery condensate splitter unit capacity globally in 2020 with 650 mbd. Other key countries in terms of refinery condensate splitter unit capacity were South Korea, Iran, US, and Qatar with 505 mbd, 489 mbd, 383 mbd, and 363 mbd respectively. Qatar witnessed the highest capacity growth

during 2015-2020 with an AAGR of 10.8 percent among the key countries, followed by South Korea and the US with 7.5 percent and 5.0 percent respectively.

Globally, 25 countries have active refineries with condensate splitter units and a total refinery condensate splitter capacity of 4,121 mbd in 2020. Bandar Abbas II (Iran), Ruwais (United Arab Emirates), Ras Tanura (Saudi Arabia), Jebel Ali (United Arab Emirates) and Daesan II (South Korea) were the largest refineries in the world in terms of condensate splitter unit capacity in 2020.
