SAB Bröckskes Cabling Solutions for Maritime and Offshore Applications
SAB Bröckskes develops and manufactures flexible cables and wires, special cables, temperature measurement and cable harnessing for the offshore industry.
Reeling cables for maritime applications
SAB Bröckskes’s DNV-GL approved reeling cable, the DR 750 P Offshore, is suitable for applications on-board ships and for offshore platforms.
The robust construction with reference to the international IEC 60092 standard for ship cables is appropriate for reeling applications with high-mechanical stress, as well as winding stress at low temperatures.
The DNV-GL approval and excellent mechanical characteristics offers the highest reliability in application.
Features of the DR 750 P Offshore include:
- Flame-retardant and self-extinguishing
- Halogen-free according to IEC 60754-1
- Resistant to oil, chemicals, mud and weather
- Smaller external diameter
- Low cable weight
- High reeling and unreeling strength
- DNV-GL certificate-no. TAE 0000002
Chemical and oil-resilient cables for offshore environments
The DR 750 P Offshore is ideal for offshore cranes and facilities, deck machines, working platforms, and lifting and conveyor equipment on-board ships.
Due to its oil and chemical-resistance, the robust SAB cable is durable in adverse environments, and has already been used in engine-operated rail vehicles on oil producing ships.
The cable is suitable for a wide range of marine applications, especially in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 60°C under dry and damp climates.
High-security cable technology
By combining progressive cable technology with high-level security, SABIX products are recyclable and reusable after decomposition.
Advantages of SABIX cables in comparison with standard halogen-free cables include:
- Extremely flexible
- Good capacitance values
- Heat-resistant up to 90°C
- Increased abrasion resistance
- Low smoke density to DIN VDE, IEC, BS + EN
- Oil-resistant to DIN VDE + EN
- Suitable for outdoor applications
Research and development of maritime cabling
SAB Bröckskes continuously develops and improves its products in order to fortify its market position.
The company manufactures high-quality products supported by intensive development, research and testing, in addition to close collaboration between clients, laboratories, raw material suppliers, and sales and development departments.
SAB Bröckskes implements testing methods recommended by international associations, including Germany’s Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE; Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies). The company also uses other testing devices, such as long-term testing and a reversed bending machine for extreme strength.
