Schottel, a world leader in the design and production of azimuth propulsion and manoeuvring systems, and conventional propulsion units up to 30MW, has announced the appointment of Eastproject as its sales partner in Italy.

Eastproject, based in La Spezia, is an experienced company in the area of design and engineering services for marine and offshore vessels and is taking over the sales operations for SCHOTTEL with immediate effect. All service activities will still be performed by Schottel – Jobson / Jobson Italia, also located in La Spezia.

Dr Jens-Erk Bartels, Schottel’s director of marketing and sales, said in welcoming the new arrangement: “The Italian market, characterized not only by its renowned shipyards and innovations but also by open-minded owners, offers great potential that we are not in a position to tap fully from Germany alone. We are therefore glad to have found in Eastproject a partner with whose support we can offer our customers tailored solutions. Through close cooperation with our service partner Jobson too, our corporate philosophy ‘close to the customer and application-orientated’ now holds good for Italy as well.”

The Schottel Group, with its headquarters in Spay / Rhine, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of propulsion and steering systems for ships and offshore applications. For almost 90 years, the company has been developing and manufacturing azimuth propulsion and manoeuvring systems, complete propulsion systems with power ratings of up to 30 MW, and steering systems for vessels of all sizes and types. Around 100 sales and service locations worldwide ensure customer proximity.

Their competencies range from specific small takes up to up to engineering packages on a turnkey basis.
