Marine Fenders International (MFI) supplies the fendering system for Pier 13 at the US Naval Base San Diego, California.
The primary fendering system for this project consisted of two different sizes of Ocean Guard netless foam-filled fenders. Marine Fenders International, Inc. manufactured and supplied 20 each of 6ft-diameter x 20ft-long Ocean Guard™ Netless foam-filled fenders and 14 each of 8ft-diameter x 20ft-long Ocean Guard Netless foam filled fenders.
Marine Fenders International has a type approval according to PIANC for our Ocean Guard™ Foam Fenders and is also ISO 9001-2015 QMS certified.
Some of the main construction features of Ocean Guard™ fenders include a thermally laminated closed-cell cross-linked polyethylene energy-absorbing foam, ultra-heavy duty integral independent swivel end fittings which are internally connected with a heavy-duty stud link chain, and a superior nylon filament reinforced non-construction marking UV resistant urethane skin. The nylon reinforcing is continuous throughout 80-90% of the initial skin thickness.
