The latest edition of Offshore Europe will be held in Aberdeen, UK, from 8 to 11 September 2015 and Merford will have a stand there. This two-yearly event brings together professionals from the world of offshore, and suppliers present their best solutions and innovations for a sector that is always on the move. The offshore sector is an important market for a number of Merford’s business units. For example, Merford Noise Control supplies project-oriented sound solutions for pumps, compressors and combustion engines, and Merford Cabins supplies efficient and safe control cabins for cranes.
Although the sectorwas and is confronted with challenges in recent years, oil and gas are still of inestimable value in powering the modern world in which we live. Especially now, the industry can prove its worth by focusing more on environmentally friendly and futureproof initiatives. The theme of this edition of Offshore Europe is ‘Inspire’. The aim is to draw the attention of younger generations to the many opportunities in the sector and to inspire them to work on innovations and ideas that can make the world a better place.
Health and safety
Merford realises that the current global population and future generations deserve a healthy planet. And we are helping to shape that planet by working on products that guarantee health and safety without compromising the efficiency of the work processes. For example, in 2014 Merford Noise Control supplied high-quality, sound-insulating housing for compressor skids on the new Edvard Grieg drilling platform and in recent years, Merford Cabins produced a number of control cabins for the main cranes and the helideck on the crane vessel Saipem 7000.
