On August 1, 2012 Seaway Heavy Lifting closed the contract with GDF SUEZ E&P UK for the transport and installation of the Cygnus field development.

The installation activities will be performed in two phases in 2014 and 2015. For this project, SHL’s heavy lift vessels ‘Stanislav Yudin’ and ‘Oleg Strashnov’ will both be involved in the execution of this exciting North Sea development.

The award of this project is a great milestone for SHL, supporting the North Sea strategy of the company and SHL’s commitment to deliver top quality projects to our oil and gas clients, from early engineering involvement to final execution.

The Cygnus gas field is located in the Southern gas basin approximately 150km north east of Easington in UK blocks 44/11 and 44/12. The Cygnus full field development has two drilling centres. The central production / processing / accommodation facility (CPF) is located in Cygnus East and a satellite wellhead platform tied back to the CPF in Cygnus West approximately 7km north west of the CPF. The CPF will be a multi-platform complex consisting of a WHP, production (PU) and accommodation platforms (UQ). Future compression facilities are installed as a retrofit module on the PU platform at the CPF.
