At the end of 2014, Raccortubi also acquired Petrol Raccord, a leading manufacturer of specialised butt weld fittings for the oil and gas, power generation, fertiliser and petrochemical industries in a move to extend and complete the Group’s manufacturing range.
Since the acquisition, considerable investments have been made at the plant to enhance efficiency, particularly in terms of raw material stock, advanced machinery and welding capabilities.
There are now 150t of sheets/plates in duplex, superduplex, 6Mo and titanium onsite, meaning that fittings with heavy wall thicknesses can be produced quickly and cost-effectively.
