Opus Set To Seek Out International Opportunities

Representatives from Opus, are set to undertake international trips and attend prestigious industry events later this month, as the firm looks to further expand its global reach.

The company is exhibiting at the Australasian oil and gas exhibition and conference in Perth, Australia, from 24 to 26 March, as part of the Scottish Pavilion, a selection of Scottish firms, organised and brought together by Scottish Development International (SDI) to showcase the services Scotland-based businesses can offer the global oil and gas industry.

Opus is looking to utilise the opportunity to highlight a range of its specialised products and services, including the company’s innovative technologies, for example, its compact flotation unit (CFU) and Mare’s Tail equipment, alongside its production optimisation studies and separation upgrade expertise, to the Australasian market.

The firm’s business development manager, Rik Dawson, is also due to participate in a trade mission to Brazil, which is being organised by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and SDI from 20 to 27 March 2010, to promote British oil and gas providers to the Brazilian sector.

Visiting both Rio De Janeiro and Macae, Rik will showcase Opus’ CFU equipment, along with the company’s produced water management capabilities and technology upgrades. Brazil’s good track record at meeting environmental compliance offshore has led Opus to fulfil contracts for some specialised toxicology testing in Brazil. The Opus laboratories are dedicated to enabling good environmental compliance with environmental discharges.

Glen McLellan, Opus’ engineering manager, who is attending the Australasian oil and gas exhibition and conference, commented: “These trips will provide important opportunities to further spread the Opus name on an international level and highlight that our technologies and capabilities, when applied individually or combined, deliver significantly increased production efficiency and improved environmental performances.

We organised the trips as we aim to further extend our exposure within the Australasian and Brazilian sectors, and we look forward to seeking out potential business partners to establish local presences, developing our contacts and gaining a greater sense of the local markets.
