6) Abu Dhabi National Oil Company

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is a state-owned United Arab Emirates oil and gas firm, which has held the seventh largest proven oil reserve worldwide since 2015, at 97.8bn barrels.  It is the world’s 12th largest oil company by production, producing around 3 million barrels per day.

7) ConocoPhillips

ConocoPhillips is a US-based multinational energy company headquartered in Houston, Texas. It is the world’s largest independent pure-play company and was ranked 95th in the 2018 Fortune 500 list of US corporations. It was created in 2002 through the merger of oil companies Conoco Inc and Phillips Petroleum Co.

8) Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras)

Petroleo Brasileiro SA, known commonly as Petrobras, is a Brazilian state-owned oil company from Rio de Janeiro. It operates in oil and gas sectors including refining, transportation and marketing; exploration and production, distribution, gas and power, and biofuels, among others. It was ranked 73th in the 2018 Global Fortune 500.

 9) Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries

The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is an intergovernmental group consisting of 15 petroleum-exporting nations. It was established in 1960 in Iraq by its five founding members and has since been headquartered in Vienna, Austria since 1965.  Qatar announced that it will leave OPEC in 2019.

 10) Glencore Plc

Glencore Plc is multinational commodity trading and mining company with headquarters in Baar, Switzerland, and a registered office in Saint Helier, Jersey. It is ranked 14th on the 2018 Global Fortune 500 list. Although predominantly a mining company, Glencore also deals in crude oil, oil products, coal, and natural gas, as well as other metals and minerals, supplying them to international customers.
