Parker Energy Products Division Awarded Contract For Supply of Infield Array Cables

The Energy Products Division (EPD) of Parker Hannifin Corporation has been awarded a contract by Northwind NV. The scope of the agreement is for supply of infield array cables, cable accessories and offshore services for the Northwind Offshore Wind project in Belgium.

The order encompasses design, production and delivery of 51 kilometers of 36kV subsea power cables with built in fiber optic communication lines. The cables will be used to construct the inner array electrical grid for the Northwind offshore windfarm, and will connect all 72 wind turbines to an offshore base station.

Each individual cable array will be spooled onto reels and shipped from Parker deep water quay in Tønsberg, Norway during the spring of 2013. Parker will also supply cable accessories and provide experienced offshore service teams to perform termination and testing of the supplied cables.

In 2010, Parker manufactured the infield array cables for the nearby Belwind Offshore Wind Project. With the upcoming delivery to Northwind – Parker will have supplied infield cables to two out of three Belgium offshore wind projects.

The Energy Products Division (EPD) of Parker Hannifin provides innovative project solutions (marine hose, power cables, mooring lines (Parker Scanrope), high pressure hose, custom umbilicals, surveying, metrology, and service) with customer-focused project management, for global energy recovery.
