The Dutch offshore crane supplier Kenz Cranes has been awarded with the order for the delivery of a boom hoist crane for the Shell Brent Alpha Platform in the North Sea.

Specialised in custom-made and fit-for-purpose hoisting and lifting equipment, Kenz Cranes will design and build a diesel hydraulically driven crane (DHC 15/2200 boom hoist) for Shell to replace the 30 year old Link-Belt crane on the platform.

The Kenz crane will be built according to the latest EN 13852 regulations, including some special features like a shock absorber and counter weight to remain within the existing pedestal forces.

The crane will be installed on the existing platform during mid-2016.
