SAS, a Dutch manufacturer of specialized equipment to both the international oil and gas and maritime industries, has acquired 33.33 % of the Norwegian company, AXTech. The acquisition of shares in AXTech follows SAS’ strategy to further broaden its position as supplier of engineered deck equipment for the offshore industry.

AXTech is specialized in designing and manufacturing of riser or buoy pull-in winches (in or excluding heave compensation) for FPSO’s. As well as A-frames and rail / skid trolley systems for construction vessels / barges. For the well intervention market, AXTech has supplied complete module handling systems (MHS), including towers, module pallet skids, winches, guide wire systems, moonpool doors and guide frames.

Both AXTech and SAS are very enthusiastic about this new alliance, which establishes a strong party, who is able to supply their customers with complete systems or engineered equipment packages.
