Columbia Metals is one of the leading non-ferrous metal stockholders in Europe. Our stock range includes high-performance copper, nickel and stainless steel alloys for all industries and applications.
We specialise in the supply of high-performance alloys with excellent corrosion resistance and superior strength characteristics. You will find our alloys in critical applications, including offshore oil and gas, chemical processing, aerospace, marine, power generation and motorsports.
For the offshore and marine industries, Columbia Metals stocks a wide range of materials suited to hostile environments. Within the stockholding industry, Columbia Metals has established itself as a unique supplier of its extensive range of trademark alloys.
The company’s flagship alloy is Nibron Special, an extra high-strength copper nickel silicon. Nibron displays exceptional strength, toughness and corrosion resistance, and is highly recommended for high-strength bolting and other critical, aggressive subsea applications.
Columbia Metals is proud to offer trademark offshore alloys, which include Coldur-A, a silicon bronze with excellent toughness, and Colphos-90 phosphor bronze.
Both of these products offer superior strength and toughness, with high wear and corrosion resistance in harsh seawater conditions. Columbia Metals also stocks an extensive range of aluminium bronze, copper nickel, nickel alloys, stainless steel and titanium for machining in a variety of offshore and marine applications.
Columbia Metals stocks materials in round bar, hexagon, sheet, flat bar, square and tube, in sizes from 1/4in to 10in diameter. We are able to cut material to meet customer requirements and can offer ultrasonic testing, precision bar grinding and chemical / mechanical analysis as required. Through our nationwide branch network, material is physically available in our warehouses for next day delivery within the UK and immediate dispatch worldwide.
Through a partnership with a long-established forge in Italy, Columbia Metals also offers specialised steel and nickel forgings, which include forged rings with an outside diameter of up to 1250mm and inner diameter up to 900mm, in addition to flanges, valves, hollow bars, adapters and seats. Forgings are available in a variety of steels, as well as nickel and aluminium alloys.
When purchasing from Columbia Metals you can be assured you’re in safe hands. We have ISO 9001:2015 certification, which is audited yearly by the British Standards Institute (BSI). In addition, we hold optimum approvals for our supply to manufacturers, including Rolls-Royce, Messier-Dowty, BAE Systems and Agusta Westland.
All of our material is fully certified with full batch traceability and we can provide certification from Lloyd’s Register (3.2) and DNV. With our qualified team of metallurgists, we are available to respond to any technical and material enquiries, free of charge.
