Corrosion-Resistant Lining Materials for Blowing Devices

By Kemostal Process Technology

Process blower units are often exposed to harsh environments and corrosive substances, and therefore it is important to construct any parts of the device regularly exposed to gas in a corrosion-resistant material to prolong the service-life of the system.

However, not all material is suitable for this application, and even if alloy materials are available they can often be too soft to absorb the required design pressure and/or elongate too much under the thermal expansion.

Some of the above drawbacks can be mitigated by selecting cast or ductile iron as a lining material, as these materials have great form stability, which makes them ideal for casing and rotors.
