ptc 2017

Switzerland-based asset integrity solutions provider ROSEN Group is pleased to announce that the company will once again act as Platinum Sponsor at the 12th Pipeline Technology Conference (ptc), which is set to take place from 2-4 May 2017.

Europe’s leading pipeline conference and exhibition will be held at the Estrel Convention Center in Berlin, Germany.

With the presentation of three technical papers and the showcasing of three innovative services, ROSEN will be participating in both the conference and the exhibition elements of the event.

The current market situation calls for a sharp focus on the care of existing assets in the oil and gas industry.

Effective integrity management, however, requires a thorough knowledge of an asset’s current, as well as predicted condition.

Understanding the industry’s growing need for innovative solutions that ensure a pipeline’s integrity, ROSEN will be promoting three services that focus on the extension of an asset’s useful life.

Pipeline Rehabilitation: Extending Life

ROSEN’s expertise covers a broad range of integrity disciplines such as corrosion, coatings, geotechnics, materials, defect assessment, stress analysis, technology qualification and field intervention.

Based on this expertise, ROSEN’s integrity engineering consultancy services enable operators to fully identify the root cause and severity of detected features and to determine the timing of required actions.

Moreover, detailed engineering assessments, thorough cost-benefit analyses and ultimately the development of comprehensive rehabilitation plans help operators extend the operating life of critical pipelines in a cost-effective manner.

Corrosion Growth Assessment: Exposing Active Threats

ROSEN’s Corrosion Growth Assessment (CGA) identifies the cause and quantifies the rate of corrosion activity in a pipeline.

Expert corrosion engineers analyse the corrosion processes using state-of-the-art methodologies such as flow assurance, and evaluate the credibility of corrosion rates calculated from the inspection data.

CGA therefore provides a detailed view of how corrosion has developed over time and significantly increases operators’ confidence in the future integrity of their pipeline.

CGApro is supported by ROSEN’s automated signal correlation and normalisation process, AutoSCAN.

AutoSCAN precisely matches metal loss indications between two axial field magnetic flux leakage (MFL A) inspections using pattern recognition technology.

Historic depth changes are then estimated using the change in signal amplitude and shape.

Tracking corrosion activity with regular repeated CGAs facilitates monitoring of the effectiveness of corrosion mitigation activities.

MAOP Validation with RoMat PGS

Whether on its own or as part of a regular inspection campaign, ROSEN’s new RoMat PGS service can be used to verify a pipeline’s material properties and reliably identify yield strength outliers.

This allows for weak links in the pipeline’s integrity assessment to be eliminated and operational safety to be increased.

Based on the inspection results of the RoMat PGS service, ROSEN offers specialised data management, integrity assessment, and engineering services for M(A)OP validation.

Accurate information on every single pipe joint allows for meaningful calculations as part of risk assessment programs or fitness-for-service assessments.
