SeaRoc and HSEQ Experts Join Forces to Support Offshore Wind Projects in Europe

SeaRoc Group and HSEQ Experts have completed a collaboration agreement to provide a combined service offering to help support the construction and operation of offshore wind farms in Germany and other European markets. The two companies have been working together since March 2014 and this agreement formalises their existing arrangement.

SeaRoc and HSEQ Experts have highly complementary competencies and capabilities, with both organisations having significant experience of offshore wind construction projects. Working together, the two companies will use their combined skills and knowledge to deliver an enhanced suite of services. The initial focus of the collaboration will be to provide offshore wind farm construction support services in such areas as marine construction management, marine coordination and quality control.

This collaborative venture is led by SeaRoc’s principal engineering adviser, Nick Murphy, an English/German native speaker, with significant experience of delivering international offshore renewable energy projects, and HSEQ Experts Geschäftsführender Gesellschafter/CEO, Bodo Lehwald, a highly experienced HSE professional and company director.

The two companies will utilize both English and German-speaking specialists to deliver these services with support provided by SeaRoc’s SeaPlanner marine management software, which has been successfully deployed on more than 20 offshore renewable energy projects to date in the UK and the rest of Europe.

HSEQ Experts will support SeaRoc in the delivery of other contracting packages, such as the supply of temporary power generation for offshore projects in Germany through the provision of local personnel and HSE support to ensure that SeaRoc’s systems are compliant with German legislation. SeaRoc has been highly successfully in delivering its temporary power generation services to the UK offshore wind market.

SeaRoc operations director David Wotherspoon said: "SeaRoc has been operating in the offshore wind sector since 2002 and the company has built up an enviable track record in delivery across the development, construction and operation phases. We were looking for a partner with complementary skillsets and ambitions to work within the German market and abroad. We are delighted to have formed this partnership with the team at HSEQ Experts.

"Our expertise, combined with HSEQ Experts’ knowledge and experience of the German offshore wind market, applicable legislation and industry requirements, provides a very significant offering to the sector."

Bodo Lehwald, Geschäftsführender Gesellschafter/CEO, HSEQ Experts GmbH said: "We see great potential in the combined services of HSEQ Experts and SeaRoc and are happy to be able to offer this service to our existing and future clients in the German and European offshore wind sector."
