Subsea 7’s specialist remote intervention technology division, i-Tech, has been awarded contracts across a range of offshore installations in key oil and gas regions throughout the globe.

i-Tech’s market leading position in Brazil has been further strengthened by the award of two contracts for ROV services in support of the Pre-Salt Libra 2 field development offshore Brazil for Petrobras. i-Tech will provide ROV and intervention tooling services on board two drilling rigs for an initial term of three years a rig with options to extend for up to a further three years.

New contract awards have also been secured in the UK where i-Tech will provide ROV support onboard a jack-up unit for a period of four years during the extensive development drilling campaign being undertaken by the client. The award will also see the client utilising i-Tech’s state of the art real-time simulation software to facilitate intervention and installation ‘mission planning’. This allows clients to run virtual site integration testing (SIT) prior to the live SIT, ultimately reducing interfacing issues and risk when the equipment goes offshore.

In addition to these new awards, i-Tech’s proven experience in providing ROV and intervention tooling services has been validated by the award of multiple contract extensions, retaining incumbency positions, which have been in place, in some cases, for a number of years. ROV support contracts in Egypt and Venezuela have been retained, some with multi-year extensions being added to the original workscopes.

Commenting on the awards, i-Tech’s managing director, Bruce Masson said: "We are pleased to build on our established relationships and reputation to secure awards for the Libra 2 development in Brazil, and a significant project in the UK, and also at the same time securing contract extensions which in their nature confirm the quality of service we are providing.

"These awards and contract extensions are against a backdrop of what is undeniably a very challenging environment, we are pleased to have been given the opportunity and responsibility to provide ROV support services for these projects in addition to the significant awards which were also secured by i-Tech at the beginning of the year."
