Perth-based telecommunications engineering and maintenance firm Walker Newman and Associates Pty Ltd (WNA) has been awarded a contract by Upstream Production Solutions (UPS) to provide telecommunications maintenance services for the Northern Endeavour FPSO.

Northern Oil & Gas Australia (NOGA) purchased the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields and associated infrastructure, including the Northern Endeavour, from Woodside in 2016.

UPS are operating the Northern Endeavour under contract to NOGA.

For WNA this represents a ‘back to the future’ situation; WNA engineered the telecommunications for the Northern Endeavour under subcontract to Honeywell during the greenfield project phase between 1996 and 1999.

WNA managing director Rick Newman said: "We are extremely pleased to be contracted by UPS to undertake this work. We are committed to providing quality, cost-effective, fit-for-purpose maintenance services to the oil and gas operators in our region.

"This contract builds on the work we have been doing with Woodside since 2014 to augment their staff-based campaign maintenance team."

WNA have been heavily involved in a number of oil and gas projects in Western Australia / Northern Territory over the past few years.

With these projects either producing or coming in to operation over the next 12-18 months, WNA are actively looking to increase our involvement in maintenance support activities as well as greenfield and brownfield projects across the globe.
